Recap of 2016 Jeepers Jamboree

Mar 27th 2023

Jeepers Jamboree is our favorite wheeling trip of the entire year! Not only do we get to wheel on the legendary Rubicon in perfect weather, but the organizers also cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for four days. As an added bonus we get no cell service!

This year was the 64th annual gathering. GenRight hosted a group of 38 friends and customers for 3 nights of trail riding, tent camping, and floating on the river. GenRight founder Tony Pellegrino drove the legendary GenRight Terremoto JKU while his son Jami piloted the GenRight Bowtie TJ.

The adventure begins by checking in at the Jeepers headquarters in Georgetown. The next step is to top off gas, ice, and other supplies before driving about one hour to Loon Lake where the trail begins.

The GenRight group always gathers at Ice House Resort, where they camp the night before leaving for the trail. While there we finish loading the Jeeps, eat, drink and take fun group photos.

The crew left Ice House at 5am Thursday morning to be on the trail by 6am. This year, everything went pretty smooth and they arrived to the camp spot in the Rubicon Springs area by 10:30am. The idea is to get camp set up and air up the rafts to be on the water by 11am before lunch.

At about 5pm they started getting cleaned up and ready to walk over to the main area for dinner and an evening of socializing with the many off-roaders who made the journey in that day.

The next morning started with a surprise when Tony discovered a snake in his tent! Good morning, Tony. All this was followed by a few days of socializing and floating on the river, with a few people scoring some nasty sunburns. Sunday the group wheeled back out the same way they came in (yes, they did the trail backwards=fun!) and were at the Ice House in time for a late lunch.

“I am blessed to have such a nice group of friends,” commented Tony on the last night before everyone started packing up to roll out for home the next day.
