The GenRight Off Road Swing-Out Tire Carrier is completely independent of the rear bumper, so it can be used with any brand rear bumper (including stock).

Notes:
- This tire carrier is sold un-painted, it can be left in the "natural" brushed aluminum finish, painted or powder coated.
- Requires drilling of four 3/8" holes on drivers side rear area by the tail light to mount the two latch plates.
- Requires that the factory rear door hinges be removed so new GenRight rear door hinges can be installed (no new holes required).
- Due to the thinner sheet metal body on the JL, we do NOT recommend mounting ANY accessories (hi-lift jack, gas cans, etc) on this tire carrier (160lb MAX).
- Each tire carrier is drilled with a fish wire to allow you to pull 3rd brake light and license plate power wires through the tubes of the tire carrier.
- This carrier relocates the license plate from the side to the rear. It is necessary to have a license plate light (and 3rd brake light), please use our LED-1650.
- We offer a relocation mount for the factory JL rear view camera (TSK-10035).
- We offer a custom made bag for the center of this tire carrier for for easy access to your trail essentials! Use the (ARTC-BAG1) to hold your tow strap & gloves.
- You can lock this Tire Carrier by replacing one or both of the supplied closure pins with a lockable 1/2" hitch pin.
- We also offer a matching rear bumper (RBB-10220).
- This tire carrier is made to carry a 160lb tire & wheel.
- DO NOT over load this carrier with gas cans or other heavy items or it will damage the jeep or carrier.

Tire Carrier
I got the tire carrier and installed it. Went on quite easy. I love it no noise or movement from it while driving. It is smooth and effortless to open and close. I do have a couple suggestions for it though. The stock camera wire is just shy of being long enough to make it through the lower tube and the tube isn’t drilled for it anyways. Maybe a short extension for it and holes drilled in the lower tube like the one on the upper tube for the license plate and brake light wire. The other suggestion and maybe this one was on me, when drilling for the driver side mounts, my holes were a little off from the support plate not a big deal at all, and like I said maybe it was on me reading the instructions wrong. I used the carrier to mark the placement of my holes and then installed the plate after. I was dead on with hole heights and spacing, but off about 3/16 on side to side. The mounts cover it anyway, so as I said not a big deal just a little elongation of my holes in the body. Maybe mount the plate first and use a small right angle drill from inside the tail light bay or a pattern. It was my first install of one and it went very smoothly other than the fore mentioned, so honestly what do I know about what has been tried. I 100% recommend this tire mount to anyone even if you are running a 33s. It even makes the tailgate feel smoother and solid opening and closing over the stock mount. Now that we have a Real President maybe Jeep can just do it GenRight the first time ???. Thanks Tony and Crew for sharing your knowledge, skill and real world testing to the rest of us.

JL Swing Out Tire Carrier
This has to be, hands down, the best investment I have made for my 2018 Wrangler JLU. I was worried that the current hinges on my gate were going to start bending or warping from the weight and then I found this item. I would buy this over in a second. It takes all the weight off the gate and is simple to operate. The installation was straightforward, and we completed it in a few hours. Most of the time spent was getting the interior off and out of the way. Superior craftsmanship! I would definitely recommend it!

JL Tire Carrier
Ordered from GenRight in CA on Monday and Tire Carrier was on the Jeep in MI by Friday. Very well built Tire Carrier and super light wieght. Installed in a few hours but I took my time because I didn’t want to screw it up. Looks BA on the JL!

JLU tire carrier
This is a very light and strong super simple design that I'm very happy with. The install was pretty easy but like any install, it takes a few hours. Mine was delivered missing some hardware and with one call to Keith the parts were received the next day. Buy this, its the best one for 40+ tires.

Could Not be Happier
I first heard of GenRight as I was researching parts for a previous Jeep build. I ended up with some other brand products on that build, but always regretted not going a tire carrier of this style. Since then, I decided to sell my JK and jump into a JL. This time I was going to do it right. Let me just say, I could not be happier with the GenRight tire carrier. I do all of my own work (won’t let anyone touch my Jeeps) and I can certainly appreciate quality hardware. These parts are absolutely top notch. The welds are beautiful; absolute work of art. I’m particularly happy with the strength of the parts. No movement at all when driving.

These are the best! Extremely lightweight and easy to use. Very sturdy and it can accommodate a 40" tire with no issues.
